Jerry L. Mize earned an Associate’s Degree (A.S.) from Richard Bland College before transferring to Virginia Commonwealth University to get his Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Psychology. While at VCU, he found a greater passion in the research areas of psychology and decided to get a graduate degree. That brought him to George Mason University, where he received a Master's (M.A.) in Applied Developmental Psychology. After receiving his first master’s, he decided he wanted to do more applied work. This led him to make the decision to pursue a second master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William & Mary (MEd). Professor Mize's experience as an Instructor includes teaching both face-to-face and online, in various modalities, and teaching students at 2- and 4- year institutions. Currently, Professor Mize is Term Faculty and Online Undergraduate Program Coordinator in the Department of Psychology at George Mason University. He is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Resident in Counseling in the State of Virginia, and see's clients part-time for a variety of mental health needs.
