Final Project:
Video Based Presentation and Infographic
This project serves as a culmination of students' understanding on the foundational principles of a course and their applications on a specificied topic.
Description of the Assignment
The final project is a culmination of what you have learned in this course. It is designed to demonstrate your understanding of the material in an applied manner. Specifically, you will do a deep dive into one of the many coping strategies/stress management approaches you learned this semester. You will have to include the pros and cons of the selected activity, find current/recent research from scholarly sources about the efficacy, and explain what stressors this activity/strategy best applies to.
Your deep dive should use scholarly research sources to address the following:
When is this coping strategy most effective, and when might it be less appropriate?
What are the primary benefits of using this strategy?
How is this strategy typically applied in both professional and personal contexts?
What does current research suggest about the efficacy of this strategy?
Are there any specific populations or situations where this strategy is particularly recommended or discouraged?
All submissions will have the following:
Submission of a single page infographic/poster summarizing your topic.
This is NOT a slide show presentation. It is recommended that this is a single page/slide. Two are acceptable, but you will lose points for exceeding this. This includes your reference list (you are required to have a minimum of 4 scholarly references).
Submission of a 5 to 10 minute video presentation of your topic.
Comment of two peer's submissions.
Comments are required to have depth, In order to demonstrate that you have indeed watched the presentation and looked at the submission, comments should be substantive (e.g., such as giving feedback, presenting additional questions, and furthering potential discussion)
The comments are due after the official due date of the assignment (see syllabus for official dates).
Comments may not be on topics that are similar to yours.
It is extremely important that you identify and begin your topic at the beginning of the semester as to not get behind. No late submissions can be accepted. If you fail to submit your original submission, it won't show you peer's submissions for you to comment.
